“I’m driven to capture the flora, light and energy of the area using oils. I paint in the plein air tradition where the weather, sounds, scents—even the insects or roaming farm animals—can influence the final painting. I often return to my studio to create larger pieces inspired by my originals. I love how the palette knife allows me to make three-dimensional marks in oil, leading the viewer through my paintings.”
